Naked and Famous X Upstate Stock Recycled Denim Watchcap - STONE WASH
We teamed up with our friends at Naked and Famous Denim to bring these caps to life! Made from upcycled denim, these are a bit shorter than our regular watch caps for a classic navy-style fit. Coming in at 10.5 laid flat, they are an inch shorter than our standard watch caps, so be aware they are meant to be worn above the ears and are tight and short!
Content: 100% UPCYCLED ECO-DENIM
What is eco-denim? Eco-cotton is a blend of reclaimed cotton fibers from discarded denim scraps combined with a small amount of polyester made from the incredible RPET process of recycling plastic (PET) bottles into fiber. Through a proprietary scrap fabric color matching system, there are no dyes or chemicals used in the process of creating such vibrant colors from what would otherwise be textile waste.

Washing Instructions: Hand spot wash with soap and lay flat to dry.
Source: This hat is made from RCotton, a yarn milled in Spain by Ferre, a centuries-old mill. Why Spain? Spain is home to the largest textile manufacturing factories in the world (Zara, anyone?) and is a country that is decades ahead of any other country in recycling post-industrial and post-consumer textile waste produced by these factories. We purchase this yarn from their American partner mill, Hickory Throwing, in North Carolina.
Production: Knit in Waterloo, NY, by our friends and knitting partners at Mozaic Organization, a not-for-profit employing, assisting, and providing services to thousands of disabled persons in the Finger Lakes, NY, area. The raw knit material is then shipped in rolls to our Greenpoint, Brooklyn, sewing facility, where it is cut, sewn, and finished by our lovely team.
Size & Fit: One Size. Length: 10-10.5 inches (without fold)
Knit cotton is prone to stretch, so if your hat feels a bit tight when you receive it, wearing it will quickly adjust it to your head. If you feel your hat starts to loosen too much over time, you can give it a handwash in warm water or machine wash in cold, lay it flat to dry, and it should spring right back. Cotton is a lighter material, so these hats are meant to be worn as transitional hats. If you would prefer a warmer option, take a look at our upcycled wool watch caps!
The watch cap is a style that's existed for well over 100 years, though it's most commonly associated with WWII US Navy personnel. A watch cap is a shorter hat, traditionally meant to be worn folded above the ears. However, you can also wear it unfolded, rolled, double-folded, etc.
