The Merino Fancy Sock - STEEL
This sock is luxury at its finest. A super soft and comfortable heavyweight sock that breathes well and does not itch.Â
We knit these beautiful socks in NJ with Fleck Knitting, a generational family-owned knitting mill we have worked with for almost a decade. Knit on fully fashioned machines, these come off the line as is, with zero sewing needed to create seamless comfort.
Material:Â Merino blend 95% 5% spandex.
Merino Blend: 50% 22-micron virgin fiber sourced from Australia and 50% recycled polyester "RPET" that is GRS Certified and made 100% from post-consumer plastic bottles.Â
What's the difference between upcycled and recycled? Well, we make a distinction because the amount of energy put into one or the other can vary drastically. Generally, upcycling uses less, as you are pushing one type of use for the same thing up into another chain of usage; i.e., the upcycled yarn that is made from discarded clothing scraps (technically, just knit yarn) can be processed using minimal energy and no chemicals or dyes back into yarn. For our purposes, recycling is when something such as plastic bottles is turned into an item like polyester yarn that is completely new and may create a carbon footprint in the process. Both upcycling and recycling have their pros and cons.Â
Care: Machine wash cold and dry on low. The sock will shrink, but the spandex will stretch back out once worn.Â
Origin:Â Knit in New Jersey. Sewn & finished in Brooklyn, NY.
Size: ONE SIZE FITS MOST
