NEW Charcoal Merino Wool and Recycled RPET "In The City" Beanie

For the first time in over 5 years, we are releasing a completely new line of multiple styles across gloves, hats, and apparel in a brand-new yarn. The first hat using this beautiful yarn is our first ever "full fashioned" design. This beautiful rib knit hat is made as a whole garment, meaning there is no sewing at all in the process.

Material: 40% 22-micron virgin fiber sourced from Australia and 60% recycled polyester "RPET" that is GRS Certified and made 100% from post-consumer plastic bottles.

What's the difference between upcycled and recycled? Well, we make a distinction because the amount of energy put into one or the other can vary drastically. Generally, upcycling uses less, as you are pushing one type of use for the same thing up into another chain of usage; i.e., the upcycled yarn that is made from discarded clothing scraps (technically, just knit yarn) can be processed using minimal energy and no chemicals or dyes back into yarn. For our purposes, recycling is when something such as plastic bottles is turned into an item like polyester yarn that is completely new and may create a carbon footprint in the process. Both upcycling and recycling have their pros and cons.

Care: Hand wash with a soft detergent (we recommend Woolite) and lay flat to dry.

Origin: Knit in New Jersey. Sewn & finished in Brooklyn, NY.
